Yusuf Ghalia Pure Parfum 30ml
Yusuf Ghalia 30ml Pure Parfum
When the final batch of Oud Yusuf was distilled, we had to make a decision. Preserve the oil as-is, or…
This is a high-concentration extrait de parfum anchored in the final harvests that gave birth to Oud Yusuf, a benchmark artisanal oud oil distilled by a small family operation that ceased production in 2019.
Yusuf Ghalia in spray format translates the complexity of the original ghalia into a structure designed for broader diffusion and wearability, enhanced layering, and sustained projection, while preserving the integrity of its core materials.
But you’re not just getting Oud Yusuf. At the heart of the composition is a rare infusion: Oud Yusuf steeped in Tibetan musk over several years. This infusion forms the structural base of the perfume, anchoring it with a musky-oud signature that is both a historical first and materially… nose-bending bliss.
Unlike typical oud-musk pairings, this infusion was created using sustainable resin harvesting techniques, with no tree felling involved, while the musk is likely centuries old. That method preserved the integrity of the trees and allowed the oud to retain its signature floral-lilac and honeydew tones. The aged musk adds a ghalia-esque refinement and enhances the natural texture of Oud Yusuf rather than mask it.
To expand the structure and give the perfume dimensionality, the composition also contains Crassna Rouge – a delectable Koh Kong oud with a red resin profile and a deeper, more resinous tone compared to Oud Yusuf’s more vibrant, fruity-floral pulse. Crassna Rouge doesn’t compete with Oud Yusuf; it complements it. It adds verticality and contrast, synergizing the honeyed florality of Oud Yusuf with a darker edge – just the regality required for a ghalia.
The floral heart of the frag is built around two rose extracts. Rose de Mai from southern France provides a perfect snapshot of fresh petals, while Japanese rugosa rose adds density and a red-fruit undertone that works like magic with the peachy-apricot facets of Oud Yusuf. These are supported by tuberose and helichrysum, which contribute a narcissus-like green-pollen texture, and frangipani, which rounds the floral accord with a creamy, tropical warmth. A touch of clove (which you also won’t smell neat) adds subtle spice and depth that polishes the fragrances with a sheen finish.
Because Yusuf Ghalia showcases its oud-floral ghalia DNA, citrus elements, specifically mandarin and blood orange, are also used not as top notes but as structural modifiers. They interact with the oud and musk and flowers to create a peachier, juicier profile that amplifies the natural apricot and honeydew facets of Oud Yusuf. This fruit-forward dimension is further reinforced by Musk Motia, a one-of-its-kind jasmine-infused musk that adds lift and brightness to the composition.
In total, Yusuf Ghalia contains two oud infusions, two musk infusions, and two sought-after rose extracts. And the concentration of oud exceeds 50%, making it one of the most oud-forward spray perfumes ever made. Despite this, the composition remains balanced due to the careful integration of accessory notes and the use of aged aromatics that have mellowed over time.
This is not a reinterpretation of Oud Yusuf (the oud) or Yusuf Ghalia (the attar) – it’s an expansion of its peerless profile. The spray format allows you to experience Yusuf Ghalia in a more diffusive, layered form, while preserving the integrity of the original materials and their exquisite interplay.
When the final batch of Oud Yusuf was distilled, we had to make a decision: Preserve the oil as-is, or allow it to evolve into something beyond itself? We chose to let its legacy live on in a perfume designed for those who value quality provenance, dense concentration, and olfactory complexity – for someone who knows what a true ghalia is meant to smell like.
If you’ve experienced Oud Yusuf solo, this is the next chapter. If you haven’t, this is the most luxurious way to understand why it’s easily among the most beloved ouds of the past 15 years.
