Ever heard of all the EO “DNA” talk?

Well…… that DNA was Siberian musk, my friends. Lots and lots of Siberian musk.

Siberian musk pods became the cornerstone of my perfumery. I have Siberia to thank for inspiring what has become flagship fragrances dearer to me than even some of my oud – like No 2, Private Blend, Crime & Punishment, and Tigerlust. (From these, none of the Siberian editions remain.)

It’s not something you can forget… the almost unbearably potent aroma of fresh musk sacks flown in the previous day direct from Russia, scraped clean… and how that smell filled the atelier as we prepped them for tincturing and the rarest of santal infusions… and the nosebleeds that followed when it came to incorporating those magical grains into EO compositions.

Siber Extreme goes out to everyone who missed out on the Siber OGs and wants to get their nose on a perfume with a wild roar.

To make it, we used two in-house orange flower fusions (due to the high cost, very few perfumers use orange blossom, and these batches feature both CO2 extracts and absolutes) that ooze out orange blossom’s rich white flower fragrance tinged with a spatter of red mandarin married to the rich red of jasmine, the sweetness of neroli, and a touch of apricot with a splash of rose to work its diffusive magic.

We have little of our signature vintage Timor sandalwood oil ago left, and I’ve stopped using it for a while now – that’s in here, too and lends its spicy smooth tone to the fusion of pepper and frangipani.

…… a spritz that’s jacked up with unhealthy shots of steroids to blast you with an extreme dose of Siber musk upon musk upon oud upon spiced-up white orange blossoms, all riding a heavy tincture of – musk!
